HOMEMADE GARLIC SCAPES HUMMUS

Why stop at traditional hummus when you can try new hummus flavours? This hearty Homemade Garlic Scapes Hummus is a savoury summer snack your whole family will love.

I keep seeing the curly green stalks at the farmers markets around the city this summer. They are garlic stalks, a part of garlic plant that is being trimmed in early summer to allow the bulb to develop fully. Garlic stalks can be used in any recipe instead of garlic. Immediately I had an idea to use it in my traditional roasted garlic hummus.

Hummus is a staple in our house, so we figured we may as well make our own. Hummus is one of the easiest snacks to make, just add all the ingredients to a food processor and press the “Start” button.

Serve with pita chips, veggies or crudités, spread on sandwiches or toasted baguette slices.
